EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO INTELLECTUAL FREEDOM!
This right is guaranteed to all Canadians under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and February 26th – March 4th is designated Freedom To Read Week. Even in Canada books and magazines are banned at the border, or challenged and banned from the shelves of schools, libraries and bookstores across the country each year. Works of art are banned from public art galleries. So step-up and exercise your right to read YOUR choice of book. Why not send us a mug-shot of you reading a banned book? There are several on display in our library, or maybe you have some in your own collection. We’d love to hear from you.
